SCHOOL
INFRASTRUCTURE
The
school is situated at Museum Road in Bangalore. Though the
fees may be low when compared to other schools this school
provides state-of-th-art facilities. In its tidy campus of
8 acres the school has good infrastructure like:
Classrooms
:
The
bright and spacious classrooms are extremely conducive to
the learning processes. The classrooms are equipped with state-of-art
audio-visual teaching aids with Computer Aided Instruction
System. Each classroom has a 52" LCD TV, a Computer with
a broadband connection to the central server and to the internet.
Apart from these the students also has easy access to basic
necessities like coolers, hot water, etc. Thus the learning
process of the student is accelerated.
Library
:
The
need to seek knowledge beyond the walls of the classroom is
essential. With over 40000 volumes the three storeyed school
library caters to the voracious reading needs of the students.
The Library subscribes to over 30 magazines and dailies which
help to meet the varying reading needs of the student. In
addition to seeking information within the library, students
can use the computers placed in the library to browse the
internet for information.
Chapel
:
The
school has a beautiful Chapel for prayer and worship. This
Chapel is open for personal prayer to all students irrespective
of their creed. Christian students have Holy Mass here. The
silent atmosphere in the chapel is conducive for the spiritual
growth of the students.
Laboratories
:
The
class room learning is supported with practical application
experience in our well equipped science labs. The labs are
custom designed to accomodate and facilitate the use of the
Lab equipments in the most comfortable and unobtrusive manner.
Well stocked with consumables the labs provide ample opportunity
to each student to experiment and learn.
Emphasis
is laid on observation and analysis withc is crucial in scientific
experiments.
Equipments
for experiments are issued to students on a need basis or
twin basis or one to one basis.
Computer
Lab:
The
100 seater computer lab is well equipped with fast internet
enabled, networked computers. The students are encouraged
to acquire the skills needed to operate applications which
help in the learning process. Netiquette and safe computer
operation practices are encouraged.
Canteen
:
There
is a hygenic canteen in the school that caters to the needs
of the students by providing them with a variety of food materials
like sweets, biscuits, cool drinks, snacks, lunch,
etc.
Play
grounds :
The
school has two play grounds one in the school campus while
the other is the cricket ground on MG Road. The cricket ground
is solely used for criket training. All other sporting events
take place in the ground within in the school campus.
Childrens'
Indoor Park:
The
school has a fully-carpeted colourful indoor children’s
park for the tiny tots of LKG and UKG. The park has extensive
play material imported from Malaysia.
Swimming
Pool :
The
school has a well maintained swimming pool and it also is
the second pool to be built in Bangalore. The students using
the pool are under the watchful eyes of the swiming coach.
Auditorium
:
There
are three auditoriums. The main one has a seating capacity
of 1000. The other two can accomodate 1800 put together. These
two are located on the right of the main entrance.
Scouts
:
The
Scout Troops consists of boys from Std. 5 to Std.10 Under
the able guidance of Mr. Joseph Xavier, who has been the Scout
Master for 23 years, the scouts have performed exceptionally
well. Some of their major activities are: Participating of
scouts in the District Level Training Camp, Participating
of scouts in the Rashtrapathi Training Camp etc. The scout
troop participates in Nature Camp : specialized in rock climbing,trekking
and hiking . Many boys have successfully obtained the President's
Award (Rashtrapathi Award). 3 scouts took part in The International
Jamboree held in London in July 2007.
National
Cadet Corps (NCC):
St.
Joseph's Boys' High School has the credit of having an excellent
NCC troop under the stewardship of Mr. J.X. Deepak. The NCC
troop has regular parade practice on Mondays and Wednesdays.
They are also adept and well trained in the fields of rifle
shooting ,map reading and community service. Their activities
include: Cadets attending various camps, like CACT camp, National
Trekkeing Camp etc
